Training At The Speed Of Sport
What does it mean and why is it important?Isokinetic equipment allows your athletes to train at speeds that closely mimic the speed at which they will be performing or playing. In comparison to training at lower speeds, training at high rates of speed increases strength at those speed and a range of speed above and below the training speeds used. Furthermore, it increases strength to a greater extent within that range of speeds.
This is what it means to ‘Train at the Speed of Sport’.
Degrees Per Second
The speed of sport equals 1,000 degrees per second. Weight training equals 10 degrees per second. Plyometric training equals 50 degrees per second. Isokinetic training equals 900 degrees per second.
Training on FastTwtich Isokinetic machines elicits a high-speed training effect, allowing the athlete to perform more efficiently at those speeds.
Train fast to become fast.
Young Children and Isokinetic Training
With all this emphasis on speed and power it is natural to query how suitable Isokinetic training is for young children.
It is widely accepted that the use of weights will cause premature closing of the skeletal growth plates in children 15 and under. There has always been a general consensus to avoid joint compression in child athletes. In other words, weight lifting is bad for children.
So let’s look at the definition of Isokinetic exercise.
Traditional weight lifting exercises are performed at variable speeds at a fixed resistance of weight. Isokinetic exercises are performed at a dynamic preset fixed speed ranging from 1 degree per second to approximately 1,000 degrees per second with resistance that is accommodating throughout the full range of motion, ROM.
Accommodating resistance means that Isokinetic exercise is the only way to dynamically load a muscle to its maximum capability throughout every point in the ROM. Therefore, the resistance varies to exactly match the force applied by the athlete at every point in the ROM.
Youth athletes can benefit from Isokinetic training.
- This type of training is safe.
- It builds strength, endurance, expands the lactic acid threshold.
- It develops cardiovascular condition, and a range of motion.
- The user gets out what they put in. Thus, all ages and levels of fitness can derive results using Isokinetic devices.
Add the new theory that you need to move at the speed of sport, which equals 1,000 degrees to be fast, and Isokinetic stands alone as the best overall methodology for training for all populations of athletes.
The Benefits of Including FastTwitch Isokinetic Training
Health clubs and Gyms
There are numerous benefits to employing Isokinetic equipment in your health club facilities.
- Lower initial development cost. This is traditionally designed facilities;
- Peace of Mind through better, safer training. There is little chance of injury due to the absence of weights; lower liability insurance costs;
- smaller footprint, which is ideal for limited space environments;
- shorter duration workouts. Accommodate more users;
- Less maintenance.
Rehabilitation Facilities
Diversified Isokinetic equipment is used in physical therapy rehabilitation and is safer in any population of individual: young or old, weak or strong.
Isokinetics is projected to be the modality of choice for turning resistance in exercise in the near future. Therefore, it’s diversification for all types of people.
Training At The Speed Of Sport
FastTwitch Isokinetic Equipment is designed to enable athletes and rehabilitation clients, young or old, strong or weak, to maximise their performance is a safe and efficient way. It allows for safe yet full range of movement. Most importantly it allows the user to train at the speed that most closely resembles that which they require to perform, whether at the elite or club level or for continued healthy movement.
Our products come with fully integrated software, state-of-the-art equipment designs, and a custom choice of upholstery color is also available.

Exercise. Working out. Heading to the gym.
If you look back, during the 1960's and 1970's when people, "talked health" it was little more than that as in reality the general public did not participate in or at the very least maintain those activities with any consistency.
In the 80's and 90's gym chains emerged. People bought memberships, but the frequency of use was intermittent and not even a bip on the radar in comparison to today's lifestyle of daily exercise and healthier diet. This may be due to our ability to obtain current and comprehensive health related information easily through the internet and social media. which has educated and convinced us fuelling our desire to "improve ourselves" with healthy habits, aling with a more sedentary work and leisure lifestyle.
Today's motiviation to "train" and the reason for our dedication is defined by each individual's interests and goals. Modern, normal day to day activity typically will not enhance the individual physical condition. To improve and develop ourselves we need to stress the muscles and the cardiovascular system, which are a popular form of exercise today. It is a form of Isotonic Exercise.
