Isokinetic Education

It's time to get fully informed.

What would be an example of an isokinetic exercise?

Read this as Posted by a uni student this year. I despair at the lack of informative education that this person has read the topic he writes about. This is just an extract .His last sentence floors me .

“Before I even knew that they were isokinetically related I would always see bodybuilders putting chains on their bench presses. You’ll actually notice that a lot of professional lifters use isokinetic methods in order to enhance their strength, size, and endurance. Go ahead, look up and pro bodybuilder or fitness icon and in one of their youtube videos you can see them using ch1ains, resistance bands, or doing cardio on the stationary bike or row machine. Isokinetic training, for all of its mystery in the field, is actually really quite popular.
Now you have the proper term for these exercises- how’s it feel to be educated? ”

Well after reading this both he and you may have not been educated .

So what would be an example of an isokinetic exercise?
Isokinetic exercise is a type of strength training in which specialised machines or dynamometers maintain a constant speed of movement.
It typically blends the intense contractions of isometric exercises with the range of motion achieved in isotonic exercises and can provide a maximal strength workout.
Isometric training in which you isolate and contract a single muscle via pushing or pulling motions and Isotonic training which is routine weight training that involves a constant load, are both effective types of training. Now compliment this with
an isokinetic exercise machine that controls the speed of an exercise by varying resistance throughout the range of motion regardless of how much you push or exert force .
Your speed remains constant.
You can set the target exercise speed via a control panel .A slower speed will give you a more intense workout than a higher speed. You can also preset the exercises range of motion.
This is the difference.

In addition an isokinetic system such as the software that comes with Fast Twitch Isokinetic machines enables you to quantify data and therefore plays an important role in testing ,training and monitoring re comparison for both enhancements and rehabilitation in athletes or Fitness clients and for post injury clients.
It can also measure shifts in muscle strength at different angles in an exercises’ range of movement. Isokinetic machines can screen for muscle imbalances and areas of weaknesses.
The above is a total bonus both for the user and the trainer.
